MotoTrack Privacy Notice

This notice explains what information MotoTrack handles, why, and what rights you have. It covers three things: the MotoTrack web tool itself, the MotoTrack wait list and international interest list, and the optional rider profile offered after email confirmation.
1. Who controls the data
MotoTrack is owned and operated by Patchnet. Patchnet is the data controller for the MotoTrack wait list and for this website.

2. Contact information
Privacy questions and requests: privacy@mototrack.app. Use this address for privacy requests of every kind — consent withdrawal, access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, and portability.
3. Geographic availability
MotoTrack's current early-access beta is available to individuals located in the 50 United States, Washington, D.C., and U.S. territories. Individuals outside these areas may register their interest and receive notice if MotoTrack becomes available in their region. International interest registration does not provide current beta access or guarantee future availability.
We use the country or region you declare when you sign up to determine which list applies to you (the U.S. early-access waitlist or the international interest list), to communicate about regional availability, and to plan possible future expansion. We use your declaration only — we do not use IP-based geolocation to classify you, and we do not ask about citizenship, nationality, immigration status, residency, or proof of address.
4. Information collected
The MotoTrack tool (this website's app pages)
The tool is a static page with no accounts and no server-side storage. Anything you type — bike details, tire pressures, suspension clicks, lap times, notes — exists only in your browser. If you tap Save this session, that session is written to your browser's localStorage on your device only; it is never sent over the network. Export and import are ordinary local file operations. We do not see any of it.
The MotoTrack wait list (when you choose to join)
- Email address
- Country/region (as an ISO country code — we do not collect precise location, GPS, street address, or use your IP address to identify your location)
- Wait-list status (pending, confirmed, or unsubscribed) with consent, confirmation, re-subscription where applicable, and unsubscribe timestamps
- Which list you are on — the U.S. early-access waitlist or the international interest list — derived from the country or region you declared
- The version of the consent wording and of this notice that you agreed to
- The page you signed up from and, where present, the campaign/referral parameters (UTM) already in the page address
- Limited security and operational logs (for example, rate-limiting counters and email delivery outcomes) kept separately from your wait-list record
The optional rider profile (after you confirm your email)
If MotoTrack offers you a rider profile, completing it is optional. You may provide some, all, or none of the requested profile information. Profile completion does not affect your place on the waitlist or international interest list, your eligibility, or your access timing, and it does not guarantee MotoTrack access or availability in your region.
- Preferred display name
- Your track involvement, such as preparing for a first track day, track-day riding, racing, coaching or instructing, or mechanic/technician involvement
- An optional short description if you select “Other” for track involvement
- Experience level
- Primary motorcycle and any additional motorcycles you choose to list
- Typical event types or organizations and tracks you commonly ride
- Lap-timing, data, or related tools you currently use
- What you would like MotoTrack to help you improve or make easier, in an optional free-text response
- Your optional interest in early product testing, remote coaching, and future AI-assisted coaching
- The profile-consent wording and privacy-notice version associated with your submission
- Limited records needed to issue and protect profile-access links, prevent abuse, and manage profile edits
MotoTrack does not ask you to provide medical, health, financial, or other highly sensitive personal information in the rider profile. Please do not include that kind of information in free-text fields.
5. Why the information is collected
- To add you to the MotoTrack early-access waitlist or the international interest list, based on the location you declare, and confirm it was really you (double confirmation by email)
- To email you about MotoTrack early access and MotoTrack product updates
- To honor your unsubscribe decision reliably
- To keep the signup, email, and optional rider-profile flows safe (abuse and fraud prevention, rate limiting, and protected profile access)
- To understand which pages and campaigns bring people to the wait list (attribution)
- If you voluntarily complete the optional rider profile, to understand rider needs, plan regional availability, improve MotoTrack, and understand interest in future product testing, coaching, and AI-assisted features
6. Legal bases for processing
- Consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)) — joining the wait list or international interest list, receiving the confirmation email, and receiving early-access and product-update email. You give this consent by ticking the unchecked wait-list box and then clicking the confirmation link we email you.
- Separate profile consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)) — processing the optional rider-profile information you choose to submit. Giving profile consent is optional, is separate from your wait-list and product-update consent, and does not affect your wait-list or interest-list status, eligibility, or access timing.
- Legitimate interests (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) — operational security, fraud prevention, rate limiting, protected profile-link security, and maintaining the minimal suppression record needed to honor your unsubscribe. These protective activities are not based on consent, because they must keep working even for requests we reject and after you withdraw consent.
7. Wait-list, product-update, and rider-profile consent
The wait-list checkbox is never pre-ticked, joining is never a condition of using the MotoTrack tool, and the exact consent wording and notice version you agreed to are stored with your signup so we can demonstrate what you consented to. You will only be added after you click the confirmation link sent to your address.
The optional rider profile uses a separate unchecked consent control. Completing a rider profile is never required to remain on the waitlist or international interest list, and refusing or later withdrawing profile consent does not withdraw your separate wait-list or product-update consent.
8. Confirmation and unsubscribe records
We keep timestamps of when you consented, when you confirmed, and when you unsubscribed. Confirmation links are single-use, expire after a bounded period, and are stored only in a hashed form. After you unsubscribe we keep only the minimum record needed to make sure we do not email you again.
9. Automatically collected technical information
Like any website, our hosting provider processes ordinary web-request information (such as IP address and browser headers) to deliver the pages and to protect the service. The wait-list backend applies rate limiting using short-lived, hashed request identifiers; we do not use IP addresses to identify your location and we do not build visitor profiles.
10. Analytics, cookies, and attribution
This site currently sets no cookies and runs no analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts (verified against the deployed site at the effective date). The tool's optional session history lives in localStorage strictly at your request. The wait-list form does not set cookies. If a signup page address already carries campaign parameters (UTM), those parameters are stored with your signup as attribution; we do not use them to track you across sites. If nonessential analytics or tracking are ever added for EU visitors, a separate consent decision and notice update will happen first.
11. Service providers and processors
- Cloudflare — website and Worker hosting, D1 database services for the wait list and optional rider profile, email delivery infrastructure for wait-list and profile-access messages, and security and operational infrastructure (DDoS protection, TLS, caching, and rate limiting). Cloudflare processes web-request data, wait-list records, optional rider-profile records, protected profile-access records, and outbound email on Patchnet's behalf under Cloudflare's data-processing terms, on Cloudflare's global network. Using Cloudflare does not by itself make MotoTrack GDPR-compliant; Patchnet remains responsible as controller.
No other processor is in the deployed public-site path.
12. International data transfers
Patchnet operates from the United States, so if you are in the EU/EEA your data is transferred to and processed in the United States and on our provider's global network. Where such transfers occur, Patchnet relies on the transfer safeguards incorporated in its infrastructure provider's data-processing terms; confirming the specific mechanism relied on for EU/EEA data (such as Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy framework) is part of an ongoing legal review, and this notice will be updated to name it once verified. EU/EEA residents can contact privacy@mototrack.app directly with any transfer question; whether an EU representative under Article 27 GDPR is required is likewise under legal review.
13. Retention periods
The retention schedule below is implemented by automated retention jobs in the wait-list and rider-profile system, so practice matches this notice:
- Unconfirmed pending signups: deleted 30 days after the confirmation link expires unused
- Confirmed wait-list signups: kept for up to 24 months from confirmation, or until you unsubscribe, whichever comes first. Continued marketing beyond 24 months requires your renewed confirmation.
- Optional rider-profile answers: kept while the associated confirmed wait-list or international-interest record remains active, but never beyond that record's retention ceiling. Profile answers are deleted within 30 days after you withdraw profile consent or unsubscribe.
- Profile invitation links: expire after 30 days. Short-lived profile edit authorizations expire after approximately 20 minutes. Expired, consumed, revoked, and superseded access records are made unusable and removed through the system's retention process.
- Minimal profile-consent evidence: the consent/withdrawal timestamp and wording or version needed to demonstrate what you agreed to may be retained without your rider-profile answers, but never beyond the associated wait-list record's applicable retention ceiling.
- Unsubscribe suppression records: only the normalized email address, unsubscribe date, the consent/version history needed for compliance, and minimum operational metadata — kept while MotoTrack continues sending marketing email, and deleted within 12 months after the marketing program permanently ends
- Email-delivery and security logs: 90 days
- Attribution parameters (UTM/referral): 12 months
14. Security practices
Confirmation and unsubscribe tokens are stored hashed; wait-list records live in access-controlled infrastructure; the site ships strict security headers (Content-Security-Policy, HSTS, no-referrer); and the wait-list endpoints are rate limited. No system is perfectly secure, but the design principle throughout MotoTrack is to collect as little as possible in the first place.
15. Individual privacy rights
If you are in the EU/EEA or UK (and in many other places), you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and to receive a portable copy of data you provided.
16. How to withdraw consent
Every wait-list and product-update email contains an unsubscribe link. One click withdraws your wait-list and product-update consent and stops future wait-list and product-update email — withdrawing is as easy as joining. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before it.
Rider-profile consent is separate. You may withdraw profile consent and delete your rider-profile answers without unsubscribing from the waitlist or international interest list. Withdrawing profile consent does not change your wait-list or interest-list status and does not withdraw your separate email consent. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of profile processing before it.
17. How to exercise your rights
Email privacy@mototrack.app to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability. We will respond within the timelines the GDPR requires. We may need to verify that you control the email address the request concerns.
18. Right to complain to a supervisory authority
If you believe your data has been handled unlawfully, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection supervisory authority in the EU/EEA member state of your residence, workplace, or the alleged infringement.
19. Automated decision-making and profiling
MotoTrack does not use wait-list or rider-profile data for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects. The optional rider profile is a rider-provided questionnaire, not an eligibility or ranking system. Profile completion and profile answers do not determine wait-list position, program-track classification, eligibility, invitation priority, access timing, rider ranking, or score.
20. Children's privacy
MotoTrack and its wait list are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has joined the wait list, contact us and we will delete the record.
21. Changes to this notice
If MotoTrack's data handling changes — for example, if analytics are added, new profile information is requested, or profile information begins to be used for a new purpose — this notice will be updated first, with a new version number and effective date, and the version associated with your consent remains recorded.
22. Effective date and version
Version 2026-08-05.3. Effective August 7, 2026. This version adds disclosures for the optional post-confirmation rider profile, including the profile information collected, purposes, separate profile consent, protected profile-access records, retention, consent withdrawal, and the rule that profile information does not affect wait-list position, eligibility, access timing, ranking, or automated decision-making. Version 2026-08-05.2 remains the accurate record for signups made under it, and version 2026-08-05.1 remains the accurate record for signups made under that version. The previous session-only privacy description is preserved in the project history.
